Bikes, Boats and Tango

[Jeff] Fabio offered to take us to where he grew up in Tigre (pronounced Tee-Grey). Turned out to be a lively and vibrant place we thoroughly enjoyed. First there was an impromptu bike meet, seems like it started a couple of Saturdays ago and is becoming a regular thing. There was a really interesting mix of bikes.

We took a wander through the streets, market, riverside and grounds of a museum. The day was momentarily interrupted by poor Fabio getting his finger well and truly jammed in the car door (I can't recall what the Spanish for 'flipping ouch' is now).

Lunch was a Argentinean BBQ, beef, chicken and some different sausage and black pudding.

Once back in San Telmo we all had a rest then we went with Lee-ann (another guest of Fabio and Ivana's) to the local market. There was a terrific drum band. We showed some strong self discipline by not buying anything (the thought of trying to cram anything else onto the bike). At the end of the market people were assembling for the evening Tango session. We decided to go for a beer first and were rewarded by a side show before the main event directly in front of us. Afterwards we moved to the main stage and stumbled onto prime spots.

A few pics below of Tigre and San Telmo.

In other news, our SIM cards arrived and the bikes are on board a plane. They should arrive tomorrow and we can clear them on Thursday.
